A Quick Tip to Clear Your Mind Fog!

clean organized bedroom representing a clear and focused mind free from fog

If you’re wondering how to clear mind fog, I honestly don’t know whether you’ll be able to finish reading this blog right now. Because when someone experiences mind fog, focusing itself becomes a difficult task — especially reading.

But if you can finish reading this, yes, you will definitely benefit from it.

At the same time, remember something: you are an extraordinary person. Because even in the middle of mental chaos, you are still searching for answers.

So, as usual, shall we dive into the topic?

What Is Mind Fog?

Obviously, you are already aware of its after-effects — feeling out of focus, a lethargic mind, confusion, forgetfulness, and a general sense of mental heaviness.

But most of us don’t know exactly why this happens.

When too many emotions — especially lower emotions such as fear, anxiety, frustration, guilt, anger, or sadness — reside within us for a prolonged period, they begin consuming a tremendous amount of our mental and emotional energy. Eventually, this energy depletion manifests as mind fog.

Your brain isn’t necessarily broken. Your mind is simply overloaded.

This is the same energy drain we explored in emotional intelligence — when lower emotions consume too many of your daily energy coins, there is simply nothing left for clarity, focus, or direction.

The Whiteboard Analogy

Imagine your mind as a whiteboard.

Now imagine that your daily priorities are represented by a green apple drawn on that whiteboard.

When the whiteboard is clean, the green apple is clearly visible. You can easily identify it. This resembles your normal state of mind — when your mind is functioning well, your priorities are visible. You know what to do, what to think about, and what deserves your attention.

Now imagine that multiple images are drawn all over that same whiteboard in different colours. There are random shapes, symbols, words, and drawings everywhere.

Suddenly, finding the green apple becomes difficult.

The green apple still exists. But it is no longer clearly visible.

This is exactly what happens when you are affected by mind fog.

The problem isn’t that your priorities have disappeared. The problem is that too many things are occupying the same mental space.

And at this stage, it becomes extremely difficult to point out what is actually bothering you.

Because you, me, or anyone else cannot literally see the mind. The mind is much like electricity — we cannot see it directly, but we experience its effects everywhere.

However, we can identify things that resemble the condition of our mind.

And making changes there can genuinely change your life.

Your Mind Lives in These Two Places

You already know that the mind is one of the most powerful instruments of your human experience. And the mind travels with your body.

Now think of the two places where you spend most of your time.

The first one — I can help you identify it.

Your bedroom.

Because you spend a minimum of seven hours there every single day, including sleep.

Now, where is the second place? It could be your car, your work desk, your office, your kitchen, your study room. Anywhere.

And believe it or not, you can literally experience your mind in these two places.

If you are deeply confused right now, I can almost guarantee that both of these places are cluttered, dusty, or badly arranged.

On the other hand, if you are highly focused and mentally clear, chances are that both these places are neat and organised.

For me, my second place is my car. I spend a lot of time driving, and the condition of my car often resembles my mood. Its neatness reflects my inner state.

Now, can you figure out the condition of your mind?

Look around. Is your bedroom clean? Is your second place clean? Or is it cluttered?

Are you beginning to connect the dots?

This connection between the outer environment and inner state is also why negative thoughts and physical symptomsoften go hand in hand — our internal and external worlds mirror each other more than we realise.

How to Clear Mind Fog: The Simple Practice

Now let me answer the question I raised.

The answer is simple. Clean these two places.

Your bedroom and your second favourite place where you spend most of your time.

But I have one condition.

Never hire someone to do this for you. You should do it yourself.

In fact, making it a daily exercise is a brilliant option.

Whenever you experience brain fog, I want you to clean these two places completely:

  • Declutter them
  • Remove everything unnecessary
  • Wipe away the dust from the floors and walls
  • Arrange things properly
  • Clean everything thoroughly

And while doing this — I want you to perspire. I mean it. By the time you finish cleaning, you should feel physically tired and sweaty.

Then, take a bath.

What Happens After You Clean

Once this entire process is completed, you will experience something interesting.

A deep sense of emptiness. A sense of lightness. A sense of silence.

And suddenly, your green apple — your priorities, your direction, your next step — becomes visible again.

Because sometimes your mind doesn’t need more motivation. Sometimes it simply needs more space.

And when you make this a habit, your mind remains cleaner and more focused. Even when life throws challenges at you, you will always have a silent mental space to recover from them.

Most of us fail to see our minds. And because we cannot see them, we lose ourselves while trying to sort ourselves out. We become trapped in loops of overthinking and mental noise.

This simple practice can create visible changes in your life.

Perhaps this is also one of the reasons why you often experience exceptional cleanliness and open spaces in the homes and offices of successful people. They may be doing it unknowingly. But cleanliness and free spaces profoundly influence our minds.

Sometimes, the fastest way to declutter your thoughts is to first declutter the spaces where your thoughts live.
